What a week it’s been at Camp Laurel South! With the summer sunshine in full swing, we’ve embraced the warm sun the best way we know how—by making a splash! Campers cooled off on some exciting adventures and some turns on the lake bumper tubing We even debuted a brand-new camp favorite: water tag! There’s nothing quite like dashing through the field while dodging water blasters with big smiles on your face.

Our 8th and 9th graders returned from their out-of-camp trips, full of stories, stronger bonds, and a deeper sense of friendship. Whether it was hiking through scenic trails in Acadia National Park or discovering hidden gems in coastal Maine towns, these experiences brought them closer together. Now back at Laurel South, they’ve stepped effortlessly into their roles as leaders around camp—setting the tone with energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of camp spirit.

Back in the 04015, activities across camp have been absolutely electric. From sports and arts to waterfront and adventure, every area has been buzzing with excitement and creativity. Campers have been diving into new skills, pushing their limits, and cheering each other on the whole way. The counselors continue to bring their A-game, and you can feel the momentum building each day as First Session really hits its stride.

The week ahead brings even more things into the picture, our annual trip to Funtown / Splashtown USA highlights the coming days. The all camp trip is always a highlight of the summer, watching campers on Dragons Decent, win big prizes, or share some ice cream with friends creating amazing memories. Somehow our first week of camp is in the books, but there is still so much more to do! More laughs to have, memories to make, and more skills to learn. Here’s to s’more summer days at Laurel South.
